“My Pandemic”

On October 16, 2020 Urban Geography students at CUNY College of Staten Island documented their lives on video as an autoethnography of their lives in the pandemic. “My Pandemic,” a short film produced by the students under the direction of Prof. Nerve Macaspac (Political Science and Global Affairs), weaves each student’s daily life as captured through autoethnographic video vignettes. From helping family members with remote learning, starting a 3D-printed hand sanitizer business, reporting to work at a homeless shelter with a Narcan kit, maintaining social distance, the film reveals the intersecting yet uneven geographies of how students’ daily lives are affected by the pandemic.

A virtual Film Screening and Discussion fo the film was held on March 11, 2:30 pm EST. Read more about the event here
